UP Govt to provide Rs 2,500 per month to kids who lost parents

The Yogi Adityanath government has decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 2,500 per month under the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Bal Seva Yojana (general) to children below 18 years who lost their parents due to reasons other than Covid-19.

“The Cabinet also decided that monetary help will be provided to adults between 18 to 23 years who have lost either of their parents or guardians due to Covid-19 or other reasons and are pursuing education after completing Class 12,” PTI reported.

The youngsters between 18 to 23 years who have lost either or both of their parents to Covid or non-Covid reason will also get the benefit after completing their Class 12 to pursue bachelor’s degree or diploma, a spokesman said.

Also eligible are the children whose mother is divorced or abandoned or whose parents or head of the family is in jail. Further, the children who suffered because of child labor, begging/child prostitution will also get the benefit. Also, the children of families involved in begging and prostitution.

The scheme provides a maximum of two children of a family falling to get benefits.
