Modi lets Hindus languish in Pakistan

A minor Hindu girl is abducted, forcibly converted, and married to a Muslim in Pakistan. The loud champions of human rights, the garrulous feminists, sundry celebrities, parlor pinks—all of them are silent. Which is not surprising, given their cringing, obsequious attitude towards Islam, their proclivity to turn a blind eye to the depravities of Islamism. But what indeed is surprising is that the government of India, run by the so-called ‘Hindu-hridaya samrat’ Narendra Modi, too has not reacted to the outrage. At least not till the writing of these lines.

Pakistan’s Dawn reported (June 17), “The abduction, forced conversion, and marriage of a teenage Meghwar girl from a village in Thar has sparked outrage and concern among members of the Hindu community and civil society who have demanded that she be recovered and brought to a court of law.” Members of the oppressed, suppressed, and repressed Hindu community of Pakistan, as also of civil society, have the guts and courage to stand up to the mad mullahs and violent jihadists, but not the sanctimonious champions of Hindus in India—the Sangh Parivar.

“Ravita Meghwar, 16, was ‘kidnapped’ by some men from the influential Syed community of Wanharo village near Nagarparkar Town early on June 6,” the Dawn report (June 16) said. “According to her father Satram Das Meghwar, the men had drugged the family by mixing sleeping pills in their food before taking the girl away.”

Meghwar told journalists on Friday that his 16-year-old daughter was too young to take such a decision on her own. “He said that he had approached the police several times but they had done nothing to help him. In time, she was forced to convert and by then it was too late, he lamented.”

On Thursday, the young girl, accompanied by her Muslim husband, told journalists in Kunri that she had converted to Islam and gone with Nawaz Ali Shah, the report said. “She also requested protection for her husband and herself. Pir Muhammad Ayub Jan Sirhindi, caretaker of the Khanqa-i-Aliyah Mujadadia Naqshbandia, Gulzar-i-Khalil in Samaro tehsil, Umerkot district, had converted her to Islam on June 6, and issued her a conversion certificate.”

The abduction and conversion of Hindu girls have been going on for quite some time, especially in countries like Pakistan. A Hindu girl, Rinkle Kumari, was forced to embrace Islam in February 2012. That time, the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Mian Abdul Haq or Mian Mitho, played a key role in the abduction and forced conversion of the girl.

Now, Naqshbandia is a prominent Sufi order; Dargah Bharchoondi Sharif is also of the Sufi origin. This, along with a zillion other instances, gives the lie to the dogma of liberals that Sufis are tolerant, pluralistic, good people against the intolerant, supremacist, evil jihadists; the truth is that both, the Sufis as well as the jihadists, are the two sides of the same coin: the coin of Islam. Left-liberals want this coin to gain wider currency in the market of public discourse. This is the reason that the liberal establishment, in India as elsewhere, smears and besmirches any criticism of Islam. Worse, it also tries to hamper war on jihad by raising the bugbears of ‘Islamophobia,’ racism, xenophobia, jingoism, communalism.

We are fed with lies instead. We are told that Sufis are opposed to jihadists, whereas the fact is that the former act like the sappers and miners for the latter. As the Pakistani newspaper, The Express Tribune, wrote on April 3, 2012, “Mian Mitho, who is one of the Pirs of Dargah Bharchoondi Sharif and an influential figure of the area, is known to welcome Hindu boys and girls who wish to embrace Islam. He also reportedly provides them protection from their families and others in case they feel unsafe.”

The result is that the Islamist agenda marches on be it the defence of personal laws in India, the promotion of Sharia laws in the West, the spread of abominations likes safe spaces and burkinis, the preaching of Islamist ideas, or the forced conversion of non-Muslim girls.

While all this is happening, Modi & Co have opted for blissful ignorance. At any rate, they are always busy in elections, be it general polls, state Assemblies, or Presidential elections. The statesman, they say, thinks about the next generation, the politician of the next election. Modi is bothered about any and every election. Let Pakistani Hindus languish in that God-forsaken country.
