In view of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s bad health and hospitalization, BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy has called for President’s rule in the state.
“The Union government should declare President’s Rule in Tamil Nadu in view of the administrative disarray in the state following the indefinite hospitalization of the Chief Minister and her having to remain for health reasons incommunicado,” Swamy said in a press release on Friday.
“A retired Chief Secretary has been allowed to conduct the business of the state,” he said. Further, such disruptive groups as the ISIS, the LTTE, and Naxalites have been able to activate their sleeper cells. Therefore, he has urged Home Minister Rajnath Singh to impose President’s rule in the state, put the legislative Assembly in an animated suspension, and impose the AFSPA in southern districts and Chennai for six months.
