Taking his battle with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to another level, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday alleged that the “repression” unleashed by the Modi government knows not limits and that it could go to the extent of getting him (Kejriwal) killed.
In a Youtube video, he referred to the recent cases filed against his MLAs in Delhi and their arrests. This, he alleged, is part of the cycle of repression that the Modi government has perpetrated against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He warned his party members, MLAs, and followers to quit the party if they are afraid, as the future would be very bad, full of state terror. In it, a jail-term would be nothing. “Much more could happen to you.”
Kejriwal said that the Central government agencies arrest his MLAs who soon get bail, because they are not able to prove anything against them.
“I want to tell everyone today that it is a very critical time. In the times to come, this daman [repression] is going to turn very dirty. They [the Modi government] can go to any extent. They can try to kill us. They can try to kill me. They can do anything,” Kejriwal said.
“My sources are telling me that Modiji is very frustrated and angry… Some people are saying that Modiji is frustrated because there is good work going on in Delhi,” the Delhi Chief Minister said. “But the fact that Modji is taking decisions out of sheer frustration and anger is a matter of worry for me. If the leader of a nation takes such emotional decisions, it is a very dangerous thing for the nation. Is the country in safe hands? The more I think about this, the less sleep I get.”
Kejriwal also slammed the Modi government’s foreign policy, high inflation, and the manner in which it addressed the issues of traders, students, Dalits, minorities, farmers, and jewelers.
It may be recalled that earlier too Kejriwal had castigated the Prime Minister. He had said, “Modi is a coward and a psychopath.”
