Slight reduction in Delhi’s air pollution is because of the measures taken by the states surrounding the national Capital at the behest of the Centre. This was stated by Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Environment, Forest & Climate Change Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Responding to a query on the subject of odd-even at a press conference on climate, the Minister said that the burning of biomass in such states as Punjab and Haryana has declined 30 per cent, resulting in the improvement in air quality in Delhi. The Central government coordinated with Punjab, Haryana, UP, and Rajasthan.
