Last year, a documentary filmmaker, Kamal Swaroop, submitted Dance of Democracy-Battle for Banaras to the Central Board of Film Certification. The documentary was based on the electoral fight between Narendra Modi and Arvind Kejriwal in May 2014. The Board, under more loyal-than-the-king Pahlaj Nihalani, summarily rejected the film.
Swaroop filed an appeal at the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal. According to sources, the appellate is favorably disposed towards the filmmaker and is likely to clear it.
